Program Manager


Oversee.net's Emerging Businesses division has an immediate need for a high-energy, intelligent Program Manager to develop and execute the project plans across multiple sites in the lead generation / pay per click business, including lowfares.com.

 
The Program Manager will be a resourceful internet entrepreneur responsible for the day to day business management of the site as well as product planning, management and marketing. This includes managing business partners, business analysis and management, managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and working closely with engineering and marketing departments to deliver best-in-class products.

 

This role is a hybrid role which requires online product management experience as well as hands-on experience running complex projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute business strategies and manage day-to-day activities
  • Communicate rationale for prioritization amongst multiple competing initiatives
  • Write functional and product specifications, working closely with product and development teams to launch projects on a timely basis
  • Work with Product Managers to define the business and product strategy and roadmap
  • Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking
  • Work with external parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Be an industry expert and "thought leader"
  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
  • Act as a leader within Emerging Businesses

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience as a Program Manager, Project Manager, or Product Manager
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of Web 2.0 technologies and industry trends
  • Knowledge of key online marketing concepts
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Bachelors degree in math, engineering, or computer science field preferred
  • MBA from top tier school preferred
  • Experience in the online travel industry or lead generation a plus
